A Shark Gets His Day In Court
Posted by Alexander Marquez on August 19, 2009What happened at the Cromanon venue in Buenos Aires is terrifying, and beyond that, absolutely criminal. Too many innocent people died and today its owner has been rightfully sentenced to 20 years behind bars.
Argentina’s Court of justice has indeed made the appropriate choice in sentencing Omar Chaban.
When I examine the details of this event I can’t help but feel disgusted at the ineptitude and
perhaps even evilness of those in charge, because it was their actions that played a gigantic role in
194 people losing their lives on that dreadful night. I think a clear message must be sent for those
who feel they can bend the established rules in order to gain monetarily.
Human beings are not chess pieces you can play with at will, and anytime you endanger innocent
civilians for your sickening financial goals, you must pay a heavy price. He might have gotten off
easy with a 20 year sentence, but overall I feel it is an acceptable punishment for such a horrific
crime. The manager of the band, Callejeros, that was performing that day, Diego Arganaraz, also
must face justice, for he will have the next 18 years to think about what he did in prison. I hope it
was worth it for your unforgivable acts of greed.
