Current Events: Danger In Baghdad
Posted by Alexander The Cosmic on April 23, 2009The bloodbath in Iraq continues, where at least 70 more people were killed due to suicide bomb attacks. From Diyala to Baghdad, there truly is no rest from the evil of madmen.
Policemen were included among the victims in the Baghdad bombing. Barack Obama has pledged to pull all U.S. troops out of Iraq by the end of 2011.
Yet some see major progress as the attacks have decreased dramatically since the days when they had reached their peak.
The major concern right now appears to be the heightened threat of political violence. The differing political views between the Arabs and Kurds is sure to cause some conflict.
I say we have been generous enough with the Iraqis. At some point they will have to prove that they are capable of taking control of their country.
I strongly approve of the President’s decision to withdraw the troops but wish it was much sooner than the end of 2011. How about the end of this Year.
I feel that for what this country has done for them they have not shown the proper gratitude. We can’t even sell our cars in their country.
It is my opinion that there is no respect for America within the people of Iraq. They never wanted us there and continue to want us to leave.
Let’s give them what they want and let’s start focusing on our own needs within this country. Let’s stop expanding a fledgling empire and fix its infrastructure.
There are also poor people in this country that are not being helped. What if for once we are able to dedicate all of our attention on our own issues? What a concept.
There is new found hope with a new President whom I believe is making strides but is not being bold enough. Politics is a tricky game that must be played very carefully.
When you are among wolves you must look in all directions for one might bite and not let go. By this I mean that there are many who want Barack Obama to fail, me not being one of them.
Iraq is a failure. Let’s leave it in our rear view mirror and move forward, trying to regain our rightful place as leaders of the free world.
Our image has been damaged enough by 8 years of selfish policies. Enough of the politics and let’s bring forth a true atmosphere of change.
Let’s show to the world that we can admit our mistakes. Let’s get out of Iraq and let them have the world they really want to have, which is not the world we want.
Bring back Saddam Hussein from the dead and let’s put him on the ballots of the new free Iraq and see where he ends up.
I have a feeling we would be hearing the following: “And now your new elected president, Saddam Hussein”.
